Open-source due diligence · People’s Republic of China

Before you commit, know the counterparty.

SuppliersVet compiles and interprets official Chinese public records — corporate registries, court judgments, enforcement lists — and delivers a written, plain-English report on the company you are about to pay.

Official records onlyEvery finding traces to a government database or public filing. Nothing from gray-market data brokers.
Retained by buyers, onlyWe take no fees, commissions or favors from factories. Our only client in any engagement is you.
Written by a personA human researcher reads the filings and writes the report. No auto-generated scores, no 90-second PDFs.
The risk

Most sourcing losses are legible in advance.

The supplier that disappears with a deposit is rarely a mystery afterward. The warnings were sitting in public records the whole time: a company registered fourteen months ago, subscribed capital never paid in, a trading office presenting borrowed workshop photos as its own, a string of judgments no one bothered to translate.

These records are public. They are simply written in Chinese, filed in Chinese systems, and structured for Chinese lawyers — which is why most overseas buyers never read them until it is too late.

Our work is narrow and unglamorous: we pull the official filings, read them properly, and tell you in plain English what they say about the company you are about to trust.

Services

Two engagements, clear scope,
published prices.

No. 01

For buyers who know the product but not the landscape. Starting from a benchmark product or a benchmark factory, we research the category and return a defensible candidate list — including who we removed, and why.

  • 5 candidate manufacturers of the same product category, matched to your benchmark
  • 10 additional candidates eliminated, each with the reason for elimination
  • Region, scale and trading-company preferences respected
  • Structured written report in English, 3–5 business days
SCOPE NOTE — every shortlist line is labeled “SCREENED — NOT VERIFIED.” Shortlisting narrows the field; it does not clear anyone.

No. 02

For buyers with a named supplier and money about to move. A twelve-point examination of one company across the official registries, courts and penalty databases — the check you run before the deposit, not after.

  • Business license, capital, shareholders, operating status
  • Civil litigation records; court dishonesty and enforcement blacklists
  • Written verdict on a three-grade scale — Cleared, Cautions, Adverse
  • 1–2 business days
$49.9 per supplier
No. 03

An add-on to either engagement. Your supplier has court cases — but what do they mean for your deal? We read the underlying filings and explain the dispute, the outcome and the practical exposure in plain English. Informational analysis only; not legal advice.

No. 04

An add-on to either engagement. A vetted regional correspondent physically attends the registered address, confirms the premises and ongoing operations, and returns timestamped photographic and video evidence. Major industrial zones; coverage confirmed before payment.

Method

Only what the government already publishes.

We do not scrape gray markets, buy brokered data, or contact anyone on your behalf under pretext. Everything in a SuppliersVet report comes from official public sources — the same filings a local lawyer would pull, read properly and translated.

What we do not do

No surveillance, no pretexting, no collection or resale of individuals’ personal data, no credit ratings, no product quality inspection. We never accept payment from factories. We are an information service built on public records — not a law firm, not a private investigation agency.

The verdict scale

Three grades. No invented precision.

Cleared

Registry facts are consistent and no adverse records surface in courts or penalties. Proceed with normal commercial caution — sampling and written contracts still apply.

Cautions

Real and operating, with findings that need context: recent establishment, thin paid-in capital, minor litigation, or a trading company presenting itself as a factory.

Adverse

Material problems: blacklist entries, active enforcement orders, revoked licenses, or a company that does not match what it claims to be. Walk-away material.

Engagement

How it proceeds.

1

Instruction

A short structured brief: the benchmark product or factory, target region, and whether trading companies are acceptable.

2

Research

A human researcher works the official registries, courts and penalty databases — and records where every fact came from.

3

Report

A written English report: findings, sources, and what each one means for your decision. No padding, no filler scores.

4

Decision

You negotiate, sample, or walk away with facts. Shortlist candidates can be verified afterward under No. 02, $49.9 each.

Questions

Straight answers.

Is this a private investigation service?

No. We compile and interpret information from official government public records and openly available sources — the kind any person may lawfully access. We do not conduct surveillance, use pretexting, or handle non-public personal data.

What does the report look like, and when does it arrive?

A structured written report in English, delivered by email as a PDF within the stated timeframe (1–2 business days for a verification, 3–5 for a shortlist). You can view a sample report here.

Does the Verification check product quality?

No. We establish that the company behind the product is real, properly registered, and free of adverse records. Quality and production capability are separate disciplines — where an inspection company is the right tool, we will say so plainly.

Why does the Shortlist say “SCREENED — NOT VERIFIED”?

Because that is the honest scope. Shortlisting identifies candidates whose public profiles match your requirements; it does not clear anyone. Verification of any candidate is a separate engagement under No. 02, at $49.9 per supplier.

What if you cannot complete the research?

Full refund, and we tell you why. If a company is too new, too obscure, or its records are genuinely unavailable, we would rather return your money than pad a report. Our refund policy spells this out.

Are you a law firm? Is this legal advice?

No, and no. Our reports are informational analysis of public records as of the research date. The Litigation Record Interpretation explains what court filings say and what they have meant in practice — it is not legal advice. For legal strategy, retain a licensed lawyer.
